Culture
Culture in Raleigh varies depending on your desires. There's fine entertainment from the North Carolina Symphony and the Opera Company of North Carolina, or nightlife opportunities around the city as well. Other major attractions in the city include the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and the JC Raulston Arboretum.

History
Rich in pre and post-Colonial America, Raleigh was formally established in 1792 as the state capital. While spared destruction and battle during the American Civil War, the city grew slowly and did not develop as quickly as its neighbors. Raleigh boomed during the mid-1950s, when Research Triangle Park brought in workers to pursue high-tech science and development.
